As the release of A Family Affair: Spring draws closer, I have a few announcements.
First, the tentative release date is November 10, 2013. Pre-orders are available now on itunes and Kobo. Nothing on Amazon or B&N…sorry. I’m going to start posting a few ‘unedited’ scenes here and there to give you a peek into the story. Please write if you have any questions.
Enjoy!
Mary
A Family Affair: Spring is a story of betrayal, forgiveness, and redemption, all wrapped up in the lives of the people we love to love, and even a few we love to hate.
Harry Blacksworth is rich, handsome, the ultimate playboy with a killer smile and a clever wit. He’s fought it, denied it, ignored it, but the damn truth won’t go away: he’s fallen in love. And just when he’s accepted that fact, Greta Severenson, the only woman he’s ever trusted, breaks his heart.
Christine Blacksworth and Nate Desantro beat the odds when they fell in love and married. But staying married is threatened when the foundation behind every good relationship—trust—is challenged.
Gloria Blacksworth descends upon Magdalena in all of her designer-clad arrogance, determined to make Christine change her course and return to Chicago and her old life. It may take two trips to that godforsaken town or ten, but Gloria doesn’t plan to fail. When she finally confronts Miriam Desantro, the “other woman”, Gloria discovers more than she ever wanted to know… or admit.
Angelo ‘Pop’ Benito is the Godfather of Magdalena. Nothing happens in that town without his knowledge or approval. And Pop doesn’t do anything without a long sit down with his dead wife, Lucy, and a half dozen pizzelles by his side. He’ll need a lot of lung power and a tray of his favorite treat to help Nate and Christine out of a real mess. And he may need the help of his checkers buddy and Magdalena’s shining star, Lily Desantro.
Truth in Lies Series:
Book One, A Family Affair
Book Two: A Family Affair: Spring,
Book Three: A Family Affair: Summer (2014)
Book Four: A Family Affair: Fall (TBA)
Mary, I’m very disappointed that I won’t be able to order this for my kindle from Amazon. I don’t use either itunes or kobo, so guess I won’t be reading this after all.
Vkaryl!
You absolutely WILL be able to read AFA: Spring on your kindle! Amazon readers are huge A Family Affair fans – I was only referring to the pre-order capability. I don’t have that pre-order opportunity with Amazon or B&N. With the pre-order, readers can reserve a copy ahead of time, but won’t receive it before the release date. So, A Family Affair: Spring will definitely be available at Amazon and B&N! I hope this makes sense and still plan to read Book Two.
Take care,
Mary
Ah…. I either mis-read, or simply didn’t understand….
Yes, in that case I will certainly order when it’s available at Amazon. Thanks!
Yes, A Family Affair: Spring is definitely out!
Take care,
Mary

Hi Stacey:
A Family Affair:Spring is coming…just not quite yet! I do thank you so much for your patience and excitement as you wait.
I’ll post a mini excerpt soon with the character we love to hate – Gloria Blacksworth!
Loved your book “Family Affair” and can’t wait for the next one. Hope to get an e-mail when I can purchase it for my Kindle. Thanks for the awesome read! HDoyle

Hi, I’ve just finished a family affair and so pleased to know a follow up book is on its way even if it is not till November! I just hope Nate and Chrissie are going to be ok, otherwise I might have to just stick to the end of book one 🙂
Hi Annmarie:
Fear not, while Nate and Christine will indeed encounter some very difficult times that will make then question their love and commitment to one another, all will end well, and their love will be stronger than ever. I’ll try to post a mini excerpt today.
Thanks again for writing!
Mary
Hi Mary,
That’s so good to know, I love a happy ending 🙂
Thank you ever so much for taking the time to reply.
A Family Affair was the first of your books that I read and I loved it so much I have since read many more.
I am SO thrilled to hear there will be a sequel 🙂
Hi Colleen:
Yes, indeed, there will be not only one follow-up book to A Family Affair, but several, as I expand upon the town of Magdalena and its residents, new and old alike. I’ve got names for the next 2 books, A Family Affair: Summer and A Family Affair: Fall. After that, I’m going to have to do some serious brainstorming~ But first, I must finish AFA Spring!
Thank you for writing!
Mary
I’m so excited for The Family Affair: Spring! I have read The Family Affair over and over again. I love this book and can’t wait to buy the sequel! How much will it be to buy it on your Nook, by the way? I’ll be counting down the days to get it, for sure 🙂
Hi Haya:
I have several readers who write to tell me they’ve read A Family Affair more than once. In a world with so much to read, I’m truly honored to hear that readers choose my books, and sometimes the same book two or three times. Thank you. The release price for A Family Affair: Spring for Nook and other distributors will be 2.99.
Stay tuned for coming excerpts which I’ll post here!
Again, many thanks.
Mary
A Family Affair is the first book of yours I have read and I’m hooked! I have been stalking your site for updates so excited for book 2. Keep writing we know you wont disappoint!!!!
Hi Dana: Thank you!! Keep checking for those updates… Of course all I want to do is immerse myself in this story. I call my 84 year old mother every morning to check on her and chit chat (she’s in a different state)…She always asks what my plans are for the day, and I love it when I can say, ‘Writing’…she has started saying…’I know you just want to go in that room and write all day’ …she means instead of doing cooking, laundry, you name it…and I say, ‘Yup’…sadly, I still have to do that other stuff, but when… Read more »
Loved these books, read them each in a day! Can’t wait for the next one .
Hi Judith: Thank you! I’m truly delighted you enjoyed these books. I’ve finished up my other projects so I can concentrate on A Family Affair: Summer. It’s funny, but as I’m writing these, I’m thinking of them as though I’m watching a TV series. A few weeks ago my husband mentioned something about one of the books and I told him, ‘No, that happened last season.’ I love it when I’m deep in a book because while I know the characters, the basics and the ending, there are huge sections where I have no idea what’s going to happen –… Read more »
I just finished A Family Affair: Spring. It made me laugh, cry, and feel honored to be a part of the Blacksowrth and DeSantro families.
Great job, looking forward to Summr! (Eh, sorry I read so fast. I doubt there’s an author on this earth who is able to write quality content fast enough to keep up with my voracious appetite….)
Hi Vkaryl! I’m delighted to hear you enjoyed A Family Affair: Spring and am anxious for readers to continue the Blacksworth/Desantro saga in AFA: Summer. (Hopefully, in late Spring.) Did you know A Family Affair is now on audio? Listening to the narrator bring these characters to life is something else:) – I don’t know if you are on Facebook (I am not very good at it, but I try), but I’m actually holding a giveaway for a few of my audios. You just have to make a comment – if you are on FB, you can check out what… Read more »
