Leah Darlington was the one big difference between this small town and all of the others he’d visited. The woman intrigued and captivated him. She could operate a forklift, bake a cherry pie, fix a leaky faucet, till a garden, and no doubt look great doing all of them. She wasn’t movie-star or runway-model beautiful. No, she was better. Fresh-faced, open, honest, with an engaging smile and a laugh that pulled a person in and made them want to sit down and just listen to her. If Mitch weren’t careful, he’d get pulled in by a lot more than her laugh and her voice.
